Tolls must go!

Resurfacing after being inactive for a short time, NO TOLLS, Inc. is back and in full swing. Co-founder Russ Johnson said that board members have been following the activities at the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority and are appalled at what they see.

There is the toll authority’s moving of tens of millions of dollars from tollbooth collections to the state treasury, the doubling of the toll/tax for those not buying an I-Pass, the monstrous fines for drivers not watching the expiration date on their credit card and the awarding of top management with 54% to 90% salary increases. Johnson is asking: “When will our state legislators end this corruption and when will these roads become freeways as promised by their colleagues in the 1950’s?”

NO TOLLS, Inc. is the only group in Illinois with the sole purpose of eliminating the tolls from our highways and is in direct opposition to the purposes of the toll authority. “The only way that we can get rid of this unfair toll/tax is through legislation and state legislators need to act now,” said Johnson. With word of mouth advertising we rely on the grass roots efforts of our membership to get this message out.
